Flygility

Flygility is a relay-style race where dogs navigate a short agility course, retrieve a ball from a flyball box, and race back — all while competing side-by-side against another team in a parallel lane.

It’s a sport that rewards speed, accuracy, and teamwork, and is perfect for high-energy dogs who love to run, jump, and retrieve.

Who Can Play?

  • Flygility is open to dogs of all breeds and sizes. Whether you're a seasoned competitor or just starting out, the sport is designed to be inclusive, fun, and rewarding for both dogs and handlers.

Training Times

  • Flygility is held for all levels on THURSDAYS from 6-7pm.

  • There is a Beginners and Competition class, your instructor will tell you when you can join the Competition class.

  • Please check the calendar page to see the activities and any special events that have been planned throughout the year.

Flygility Competitions​

  • Competitions are run under the rules of the NZFDA. If you want to compete you join a dog club and become a member of NZFDA.  Click here for more info on NZFDA.​

  • Dogs have to be measured before competing as the heights of the obstacles are changed for different height dogs.

​

Flygility Link competitions

  • These are run monthly at the club. There is an individual and teams competition. This is run under the National Agility Link Association (NALA) and you need to become a member for scores to count. Find out more about NALA here.

Requirements

  • Dogs must be at least 12 months old

  • Dogs must have passed Canine Good Basics, and preferably the Dog Manners class

  • Handlers must have a good level of control over their dogs
